What is Allergy?

An abnormal response to certain substances, which may cause asthma, hay fever, and other allergic disease. The body may react to the presence of certain materials (allergens), such as animal and plant products, by producing substances called antibodies. When the same material enters the body a second time, a reaction ensues between this substances and the antibodies.

When the reaction occurs in the skin, the escape of fluid and the contraction of the smooth muscles around the hair follicles produce the swellings seen in hives. When it occurs in the nose, collections of fluid in the mucous membranes cause the familiar symptoms of hay fever. An allergic reaction in the air passages (the bronchioles) produces asthma, and such a reaction in the intestines results in cramps and diarrhea.

4 Ways in which Allergens Enter The Human Body

Airborne Allergens

Such substances include the wind-carried pollens of ragweeds, grasses, and trees. Also the seeds of molds that grow on grains, insect dust, the dandruff of dogs or horses, and house dust. These irritants may affect the nose, causing sneezing, discharges, and blocking of the nasal passages. If the allergy is caused by seasonal allergens, such as pollen, molds, and insect dust, it's called hay fever.

If the irritant is present throughout the year, the allergy is termed perennial allergic rhinitis. Allergic asthma is a more serious ailment. It develops when the air passages are sensitive to the airborne allergens. The allergic reaction causes a spasm of the muscles of the bronchioles and stimulates the production of thick mucus. The consequent narrowing and blocking of the air passages make breathing difficult. Although most cases asthma are allergic in nature, some may be caused by infection or heart disease. In many instances the cause is unknown.

Skin Contact with Allergens

An allergic skin inflammation (contact dermatitis) can be caused by contact with a number of substances. These include plants (poison ivy, poison oak, primrose, ragweed), dyes (used on fur and clothing), metals (mercury in antiseptics, and nickel-containing jewelry), nail polish, penicillin, sulfa drugs, and plastics.

Foods and Drugs

Almost any type of allergy can be produced by food. These type include asthma, skin conditions (hives and eczema), gastrointestinal complaints involving cramps, stomach gas, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.

Drugs are also frequent source of allergy. Some types of anemia (deficiency of red blood cells), leukopenia (deficiency of white blood cells), or thrombocytopenia (deficiency of blood platelets) may caused by drug allergy. Injected drugs are more likely to produce an allergy than those taken by mouth. Serum sickness is an allergic that occasionally follows the injection of penicillin or serum prepared from animals. The reaction usually develops several days after the injection. It consists of hives, giant swellings, inflammation of the joints, and fever.

Insect Stings

Allergic reactions from the stings of bees, wasps, and hornets are common. The oldest recorded case of this type is found in the hieroglypic account on the tomb of King Menes of Egypt, which tells of his death from the sting of a hornet in 2641 BC.

What is Diabetes Mellitus?

A disease characterized by a complete or partial inability of the body to burn sugar as a fuel. It occurs in all age groups, most diabetics are obese, or slightly obese, middle-aged women.

The tendency to diabetes may be inherited and in such cases the disease may be brought on by obesity, infection, emotional shock, surgery, pregnancy, or the onset of change-of-life. Diabetic women often bear abnormally large children some years before they develop the disease.

What Causes Diabetes?

Improper functioning of the pancreas is thought to be the key to diabetes. Diabetic pancreas may not produce enough insulin, a hormone that is essential to the utilization of carbohydrates as a food by the human body. Under certain circumstances, diabetes may develop even the pancreas produces normal amounts of insulin. In these cases there is apparently a relative deficiency of insulin.

Because the body unable to utilize sugar as a source of energy, it then draws upon protein and fat as energy sources. This results in a gradual wasting away of muscular tissue, which becomes evident as a loss of weight. The use of fats for fuel is potentially even more dangerous. For these are broken down into substances called ketone bodies, which upset the acidity-alkalinity balance of the body.

The result is a condition called acidosis, which may terminate in a coma. This coma is characterized by a fruity aroma of the breath, which is produced by the presence of acetone, one of the ketone bodies. Diabetic coma is distinct from the shock which develops when the patient takes too much insulin. Too much sugar enters the cells too quickly, resulting in a serious shortage of glucose in the blood.

The Symptoms

Diabetic may appear well and completely unaware of his condition until a routine examination of his blood and urine reveals an abnormally high concentration of sugar. The condition progresses until symptoms appear. These include: excessive urination, thirst, dryness of the mouth, weakness, loss of weight, and itching of the genital areas. Less frequent symptoms are excessive hunger and disturbances in vision.

Diabetics are susceptible to cataracts, arteriosclerosis (hardening of the arteries), and heart disease. In diabetics of long standing the kidneys and nervous system may be affected and blindness may be produced by hemorrhages in the eyes. Diabetics must maintain scrupulous care of their feet, avoiding ill-fitting shoes, harsh chemicals, and home surgery.

Diet is an essential aspect of treatment. It should be well-balanced, provide enough calories to maintain ideal weight, and restrict carbohydrates. Many older patients can be controlled on diet alone. Others require insulin or drugs to lower blood sugar. Caution must be observed to avoid insulin shock which may result from too little food, as well as too much insulin. With proper care and attention, diabetics can lead normal lives.

What is cancer?

Cancer is an abnormal and uncontrolled growth of the cells that make up living things. Cancer was recognized by the Egyptians as early as 1500 BC. The death rate from this disease has steadily increased nowadays.

Cancer is often thought of as human disease but is actually widespread in most forms of plant and animal life. Tumors have been found in insects, fish, reptiles, birds, fungi, ferns, carrots, spruce, willow, and sugar beets. Over 200 different kinds of cancer are recognized in man, including lung cancer, intestinal tract, stomach, breast, prostate, uterus, urinary organs, brain, bone, endocrine, pancreas, skin, ovary, testes, liver, and in blood-forming tissues, leading to leukemia.

Why do some individuals get cancer, while others don't?

Unlike other disease of man, many of which are known to be caused by specific bacteria or virus (tuberculosis or polio), an inborn metabolic defect (diabetes), or anatomical deteration (heart disease), cancer appears to be a disease that may result from many factors. Different types of cancer may be caused by different combinations of conditions.

Does a human being possess natural defense mechanisms against cancer?

Although it is imprecise and often speculative, but there is reason to believe that the patient is not completely defenseless against the growing cancer. Some have been found to grow slowly in certain individuals. However, when removed from the patient's body and placed in a test tube, cancers grow wildly.

Over 100 cases have been reported in which the body subdued the tumor without treatment. Some cancers develop extremly slowly and often escape detection during the life of the patient. Cancers may lie dormant for years or even decades before they undergo a period of rapid growth and produce the symptoms of disease

Value of early detection

The greatest hope for controlling cancer lies in early detection. It is important for all adults to have a complete physical checkup at least one a year. The American Cancer Society recommends to be alert to ' Cancer's 7 Danger Signals '. These are:

1. Unusual bleeding or discharge.
2. A lump or thickening in the breast or elsewhere.
3. A sore that doesn't heal.
4. Change in bowel or bladder habits.
5. Hoarseness or cough.
6. Indigestion or difficulty in swallowing.
7. Change in a wart or mole.

If a signal lasts longer than two weeks, it is essential that a doctor be consulted.

Dear Leader of North Korea, Kim Jong Il, died at the age of 69 due to heart attack. The ' Supreme General from Heaven ' reigned since July 8, 1994 was defeated by His heart disease. Just like His late father Kim Il Sung, founder of the communist nation, died at the age of 82 due to heart attack. North Korea's KCNA stated the obituary of Its supreme leader on Dec. 19, two days later.

Kim Jong Il will no longer lead the commemoration of 100 years birthday anniversary of Kim Il Sung next year. The figure is highly respected by more than 24 million of North Koreans. Kim Jong Il was successfully made North Korea as a threat to all countries in the Asia Pacific region over the past few years.

The country that do not have an internet connection is believed to still develop long-range missile. South Korea's military immediately announced High Emergency Alert status. This reaction was based on the short-range nuclear testing on The East Coast of North Korea shortly after the release of Kim Jong Il's obituary.

Kim Jong Un then becomes Kim Jong Il's successor for the highest leader of North Korea. Will Kim Jong Il dreams to make North Korea into a strong and prosperous country in 2012 can be forwarded by his youngest son? Will North Korea under the leadership of Kim Jong Un still become a threat to the world, especially to its neighbors countries? The important thing is, We all hope that Kim Jong Un will bring peace to the world and no longer pose a threat with nuclear weapons test range.

No Pain No Gain

Animism is the belief of the past before humans know religion. Even today, some people still believe it. Did you ever wonder if an inanimate object can talk?

I've been involved in one of the MLM based in Malaysia. Because of busy work, that side job I left off. First time I was drawn into MLM, was not due to the product (health products). But what was emitted from the product. My sixth sense captured that an energy was blanketed the product. My wife's sixth sense was also felt the same. What happens then we both joined the MLM.

Another strange was when I demo at my uncle's house. My uncle was an expert on alternative medicine. He uses techniques of reflexology combines with his own made herbs.

I carried 3 products as the demo examples. Before I explained to my uncle what were these products? Origins? Benefits and so forth. It was my uncle then became the one who explained in details about the products I carried. I'm surprised.

How my uncle could knew details about my products? He just said, 'It was your products that said to me'. I'm surprised. This is no kidding. My uncle turned out to be a Paranormal who has supernatural powers, I assumed.

I guess not all Paranormal can talk to inanimate objects. They can only communicate with the dead & the genie. He then also said, ' Your product is good. If all people believe in your health product, then all drugs will not be sold on the drugstore '. ' But for me, my own homemade herb is enough '.

My uncle also gave me advices, the most important thing is to believe. If we went to Doctor but do not believe, will you take the medicine that has been prescribed? Another important thing is, that there is no diseases that resolved spontaneously after we take medication.

A simple example is, when Our feet are sore from the fall, and was given medication antiseptic such as iodine / penicillin. How does the pain feel like? Does it feel no pain? The conclusion is we must feel the pain twice before we make a full recovery. No pain no gain that's the fact.

The Legend of Aji Saka

In the Island of Majeti life of a handsome knight named Aji Saka. Aji Saka has a powerful magic power, handsome and also knowledgeable. He has two servant, Dora and Sembada. Both servant was very loyal to Aji Saka, They had never been to ignore His orders.

One day, Aji Saka left Majeti Island to have a journey. His departure was accompanied by Dora, while Sembada stayed, and ordered to keep the heirloom (Keris). Aji Saka told Sembada that heirloom should not be handed to anyone except to Aji Saka himself.

In the land of Java, there was a famous, prosperous, orderly, safe and peaceful country, which was named Medhang Kamulan. The King was named Dewata Cengkar, a noble and wise King. One day, the royal Chef have an accident. He accidently cut his finger. He did not realize that the pieces of his fingers plunged into a dish that will be presented to the King.

The King seemed very good to eat the meat, so He sent the Duke to ask the Chef. After knowing that he had eaten the flesh of Chef's finger, the King then ordered the Duke to deliver His people to be the King's meal every day.

Since then King Dewata Cengkar turned into a cruel King. Medhang Kamulan becomed haunted and lonely, because of the people one by one eaten by the King, the rest fleeing for their life. The Duke was confused thinking about the situation, because there was no more people who could be delivered to His King. At that moment Aji Saka and Dora, arrived in Medhang Kamulan.

Aji Saka amazed to see quiet and creepy state, so He then tried to find out the cause. After received information from the Duke about what was happening in Medhang Kamulan, then He volunteered to become King Dewata Cengkar's meal.

The King could not understand, why Aji Saka was willing to give up his life for him. Aji Saka said to the King that he was willing to be sacrifice for the King's meal, if the King rewarded Him with a land area as wide as Aji Saka headband that He was wearing.

But, the King himself should be the one who measured the land that will be awarded. The King agreed to Aji Saka's request. Aji Saka then asked the King to pull His headband. Miraculously, the headband seemed endless.

Dewata Cengkar forced to retreat further and further back, so that He finally arrived on the edge of The Southern Ocean. Headband was then flicked by Aji Saka, that catapulted the King fell into the sea. Instantly, Dewata Cengkar form turned into a White Crocodile.

Aji Saka later became King in Medhang Kamulan. After being crowned as King of Medhang Kamulan, Aji Saka sent Dora to go back to Majeti Island to take His heirloom that is guarded by Sembada.

Arrived at Majeti Island, Dora met Sembada and explained that he was ordered by Aji Saka to take His heirloom.

Sembada did't want to give the heirloom because he was holding Aji Saka command, that the heirloom should not be handed to anyone except to Aji Saka himself. In the other hand, Dora which also carried out Ajisaka command to deliver the heirloom.

Eventually both of them were fought. They were equally powerful. Attacked and be attacked each other.

Until finally they both died.

News about the death of Dora and Sembada was heard by Aji Saka. He was very sad to hear. He remembered the loyalty of both His servant. It was His command that made both of them were fought until death. His grief led him to create a script to capture the memories of them to honour their loyalty.

New Personality to Banish Bad Memories

Have You ever had bad memories of the past? Every person must have had. How then, if it happen in Your childhood?

Bad memories in childhood, if it occurs continuously will have an impact on a new personality in adulthood. The new personality will suddenly appear when You feel stress, as a result of excessive trauma You have experienced in Your childhood.

The new personality is emerging as a form of protection from the mind. In medical terms this is called Multiple Personality Disorder (MPD), or that since 1994 until now better known as Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID). MPD and DID are just the same thing.

DID is a manifestation of the split mind to banish the pain of trauma in childhood. New DID personality is a different and separate from the initial personality. Actually become new individuals who do not recognize each other, more like amnesia.

DID patients can not even recognize their child, husband, wife, family and all who knew them. The more childhood trauma experienced, the more personality DID patients have. The most dominant personality, who mastered the DID patient's body for long periods eventually become a major personality.

Prevent DID early in your child! Care for your children! Because of their childhood will determine the future of your children. Do not let your children experience the trauma in their golden period. Love your children with affection and not with your wealth.

How to Overcome Diarrhea Without any Medicines

Diarrhea is one of the silent killer. Diarrhea occurs as a result of bacteria or foreign substances (toxic) that attacks the immune system in the gastrointestinal tract. Antibodies in the body reacts to the process of secretion.

Excessive secretion process will lead to dehydration. Acute dehydration can lead to death if not promptly addressed. An easy way to overcome it, based on my experience is :

Drink Water as much as Possible

You may add sugar and salt to your water. It will increase the levels of sodium and glucose to the blood. My experience when diarrhea is to drink a glass of water (300ml) every ten minutes. After spending three glasses of water (approximately a litre), diarrhea I experienced gradually recovering.

Why Water?

Water is a new blood substitute in the body. Blood is the center of the immune system. If Our blood is always new, the antibodies in our body system would be immune from all diseases. Dehydration occurs because the lacks of new blood in Our body.

Therefore, do not always get used to taking medicine. Antibiotics drug, if too often will be able to make the disease resistant to antibodies in our body. Water is the best medicine for all diseases.

On Dec 5, 2011 NASA's Kepler Mission confirmed Kepler22b as New Earth. Kepler22b is located 600 light-years away. NASA Kepler Mission also confirmed that liquid water could exist on Kepler22b surface. This indicates life support on Kepler22b, a habitable zone.

I had an experience with both of my children when they were still in the womb of my wife. Many articles say that classical music can help infants during brain development in the womb. But what I've done was very different.

On my wife's first pregnancy, ranging in age from 4 months of pregnancy, I always play the songs from Theatre Of Tragedy, from album Aegis before bed. I created a CD player alarm to wake up with the same song. Track 1 of Aegis album titled Cassandra is the wake up alarm. This happened until my daughter was born.

Cassandra track from Theatre of Tragedy becomes our (my wife and I) favorite song. My wife did not really fond of a type of song like symphonic black metal before. After my daughter was born, I never play that song again. Cause my baby daughter was not fond of it after she was born.

Same as before, when my wife was pregnant with her second, from the age of 5 months of pregnancy, as always I play songs before bed. This time from the album Elements of Life from DJ Tiesto. My little daughter were never felt disturb with the song while she were sleeping. This happens until my son were born.

What happened then??

After 4 years later, I found nearly the same character on both of them. My daughter was rampart, selfish and own way. Vice versa with her younger brother. What differs is the level of maturity. My son is more easily made to understand and want to give in than her sister. Despite of their age difference is only 20 months, my daughter never budge on her brother.

I always give understanding to both of them that they had to share each other. When my daughter was 4 years old, I never bought special toys for girl. But I always bought a toy that can be played together, in hoping that they can share.

But that is not true a year later. When both my children have their own favorite toys. My daughter prefers to play Barbie dolls and then my son loves Thomas The Train Engine toys. But still, they are still exchanging their toys. Let see what will happen to my children in the next 5 years.

Dealing with Boring Job

There's a proverb said, ' Go for as much as you can reach it. Later when You could not do anything about it, only remorse is obtained '. While We're still in the productive age, I agree with the opinion that says we have to work hard. Perhaps you once also heard, ' Fortune will not come twice '.

This situation can be achieved if Our conditions allow it to reach it. Health and family is a major factor. Current conditions in which jobs increasingly narrow and difficult to obtain, the main capital is fortitude. Support from family is very helpful to give encouragement to you.

Parents advice, husband, wife, the joy with your children and always think positive are encouragement key. Staying in one job in a long time period, sometimes brings boredom. Your routine job every day for 6 days a week will take you on one point of saturation. Especially if your career is stuck ' on path place ', only moving from one division to another without promotion is one thing that triggers a person seeking a new job.

Target
You must create a target, for example : ' Another year I continue working here. Next year, I have got a new job '. By making target, you are expected to be lighter in feeling the load. You must consider your age. Can I compete with the fresh graduate to get a job? Sometimes a company more interested to recruit fresh graduates instead of those who have work experience. For whom you work? If you are married or even had children, you should think twice to find a new job. If you have worked at a company for 5 years but felt the salary you earn is not enough to feed your family, first thing you should check is your expenses. Are all the expenses for needs or desires? Needs and desires sometimes makes anyone feels their salary do not quite enough to support their family. Enough or not enough salaries is relative. Your lifestyle determines whether or not your salary enough for you and your family.
