The Pain Killer Weeds

My uncle who is known as an expert in alternative medication, was once used nutgrass to make his own herbs, which combined with his treatment of massaging.

Nutgrass, or in Latin, Cyperus rotundus Linn, is considered a pest plant, which also known as the world's worst weed. Even though it had already known as the major sources of weeds, but it had been used as folk medicine since many years ago.

Traditional Chinese medicine uses nutgrass, especially its root or rhizome as the primary herb component. Indian ayurvedic medicine uses the plant for treating fevers, and digestive system disorders.

Modern alternative medicine uses nutgrass to treat nausea, fever and inflammation. As for pain reduction and muscle relaxation, is based on the study about the oil derives from its fresh rhizome, had shown good analgesic (pain killer) effect.

Natural Pain Killer

To make nutgrass as your own home made herb, follow the steps!

Take fresh rhizome, clean it up using water. Slice it using a knife, but not too thin. So that the essential oil, which has the main benefit, is not boiled over.

Dry it up in an open place but avoid direct sunlight. Just place it your kitchen table, and stay it away from the sunlight.

After well dried, crush it up to make it powder. As your own home made herb, the last one you need is a glass of hot boiled water. Just like if you want to make a tea.

Leave it for awhile until it warm, and ready to drink without its residue.

When The Brain is Offline

Brain is the most vital organ which governs all aspects of life. One of the brain important function is the cognitive. Brain structures which regulate these functions are the limbic and cortex system. These two structures regulate emotion, behavior, motivation, memory, and spiritual.

Through this cognitive function, the brain is changing the outside object sensation into perception, perception into intention, and intention into action.

In the cognitive function, the pre-frontal cortex (PFC), which is in front of the brain into a kind Boss, or performing the highest brain function. The PFC represents sane brain functions, among them are:

1. To guide of intelligent thingking.
2. To determine of the actions and emotions.
3. To inhibit thoughts, actions, behaviors, and feelings which are not appropriate.
4. To create a focused purpose.
5. To create oriented actions and inhibit irrelevant actions.
6. To control various levels of processing, including planning, taking decision, assessing, selecting, maintaining, and updating activity.
7. To regulate emotional stability.
8. Other important functions.

Many studies have shown that PFC noble nature was found in the newborn's brain. In other words, God had conferred the noble brain since the beginning of the infancy.

The universal human potential tends towards the goodness and truth. The further development depends on the environment. Ironically, this kind of environment in which will change human mindsets and behaviors of becoming to smear with sins.

The advance study in brain imaging has the possibility to see the brain change which is associated with abnormal behavior.

According to various studies, someone experiences are very significant in changing the brain's thought patterns and behaviors. In young children who watch too many violence videos, the PFC activity is greatly decreased.

Many social studies have found that these children were having aggressive behavior, brutal, having no merci to their friends and environment.

By the decline of PFC activity, means that the PFC functions which lead to goodness and truth, have undergone offline (stopped). Then, the PFC is no longer controlling the aggressive behaviors.

The reduction activity of PFC is also found on the stress imaging, such as anxiety, and depression. The limbic system also showed an abnormal activity, primitive response called fight or flight (to fight or to run away). These primitive responses include basic humans instinct, just like animals.

Without PFC controls, people will behave abnormal. High stress with the continuation can cause the brain regions, which involved in memories and emotions, such as hippocampus, amygdala, and PFC undergo structural remodeling (structural changes) to become worse. Resulting in memory impairment, increased anxiety, aggression, and abnormal behavior.

Contrary to another interesting study, in people who were praying, the track which connected the limbic system with PFC becomes active. At the same time, the path which connects the limbic system with parietal cortex becomes offline (inactive).

At the moment, all attentions are directed only to God, with no interruption from the surrounding environment. Parietal cortex function is to receive all outside sensations (the environment).

The Studies on people behavior who lived in monastery, did not prove that having strong faith and fervent worship was very useful for life. It was causing people to live longer, avoiding a stroke, or heart disease, have a good immune system, low blood pressure.

The conditions can also improve mental health, emotional, avoid psychological stress, divorce, suicide, and other abnormal behaviors.

Sandy Hook Elementary School Shooting

A 20-year-old, Adam Peter Lanza who fatally shot 20 children and six teachers at Sandy Hook Elementary School in the Sandy Hook village of Newtown, Connecticut, was one of the case where a brain is offline.

Adam's brain PFC was offline from the moment he shot his own mother. His brain PFC was replaced by the limbic system response, which savage in nature.

While his brain PFC remained offline, his savage response was having an excessive stimulation. It triggered Adam to conduct the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Shortly after the massacre, Adam's brain PFC was online, and he realized that he had made a fatal mistake. And then, there was the so-called self punishment, a suicide. Adam Lanza shot himself in the head as the police arrived. Suicide is a phenomenon which often obtained in patients with severe depression.

My excessive condolences for all the victims, especially for all the innocent children. Heaven had been waiting for all of them. Amen..

How to Gain Trust and Authority from The Search Engines

The Trust

Trust, a measure of how well a search engine trust a website to provide accurate and reliable information, from its content or outbond links.

How do search engines measure trust? No one really has the perfect answer about what kind of algorithms that are used by the search engines. The search engine's algorithms are just like our point of view about something.

For example, when I saw a painting of a naked Balinese woman, I would say the painting was just an art, while other would say pornography.

Some factors which can gain trust from the search engines are:

• Backlinks from high authority, or high pagerank sites, such as .gov sites, .edu sites and forum sites.
• Backlinks from popular sites, or social media sites, such as facebook, twitter, and etc.
• Link ageing, the age of your backlinks. The faster you get your power links will determine your site's trust.
• Link popularity, the quality and quantity of your backlinks. The more quality backlinks you have, the more trust your site will gain from the search engines. Having many backlinks will also gain more trust.
• Link building behaviors. Stay as natural as you can, when it comes to link building. Having links from the same niche sites or not, you should not worry, whether they are dofollow or nofollow links.

The most important thing is that search engines use time based indicators and link quality to establish trust in a site. So, trust can help boost your search engine rankings.

The Authority

Authority, a site's reputation within a niche. Search engines use authority to rank a site only on one topic, a niche.

Here in my blog, as you can see on my right sidebar, the My Value Articles, I use not only a niche in my blog. Based on this blog site info on Alexa, the search engines had ranked my blog well for popular posts, such as How to Get Free Backlink from PR9 Site and List of 50 .edu Blogs for Building Backlinks.

The following are some factors which can gain authority from the search engines:

• The quality backlinks from the same niche sites. You should have more quality backlinks within the same niche.
• Relevant anchor links from different niche sites. Though you have backlinks from different niche sites, just make sure you use the relevant anchor link text.
• Link Popularity.

The combination between trust and authority will make a domain is having easily rank for several search queries within its niche. It might also have low rank for the queries outside its niche. Having low rank from outside the niche is better than no rank at all.

Wikipedia is one of the wide niche site which had gained trust and authority from the search engines. A new page on Wikipedia can rank well in the search engines.

Submit your site to the search engine will not make your site faster to be indexed. The search engines will eventually find and index your site. First thing you have to do, if you have a new site, is by starting the natural link building.

The Legend of Ken Angrok Chapter 2

The Permission

After hearing Dang Hyang Lohgawe explaination, Ken Angrok then asked his father, Father Dang Hyang, I will kill the akuwu and claimed his wife. The akuwu will surely die by my hand if Father permits me.

Dang Hyang Lohgawe answered, Yes, Tunggul Ametung will surely die by your hand, my son. But, I am not appropriate on giving you the permission. Because it is not a brahmanian's act. The limit is your own will.

If so Father, may I have your permission to leave?, said Ken Angrok. The brahmanian answered, Where will you go, my son?

Ken Angrok answered, I will go to Karuman. There is a gambler named Bango Samparan who claimed me as his son. He really loved me. I will ask his consideration. Perhaps, he would agree. Dang Hyang Lohgawe then permitted Ken Angrok went to meet with his father.

In Karuman, Bango Samparan embraced Ken Angrok, because Ken Angrok never visited him for years. Ken Angrok told Bango Samparan about the nareswari of Ken Dedes, and his wish to marry Ken Dedes, after assassinating her husband, the akuwu of Tumapel, Tunggul Ametung.

The Kris of Mpu Gandring

Hearing the wish of his beloved son, Bango Samparan then said to Ken Angrok, I give you my permission, my son. But Angrok, the akuwu has a supernatural power. He would not get injured if you stab him with a normal kris.

I have a friend in Lulumbang, a famous blacksmith. His name is Mpu Gandring. His hand made kris is superb. There are no people with supernatural power who doubt the kris of Mpu Gandring.

I should go to Lulumbang then. Bless me Father!, said Ken Angrok.

In Lulumbang, Ken Angrok found Mpu Gandring was working in his smithy. He asked Mpu Gandring to make him a kris, in which should be finished within five months. Generally, to make a perfect kris, Mpu Gandring needed at least a year to finish it.

Because of Ken Angrok hesitation, Mpu Gandring finally agreed to finish it within five months.

The Curse of Mpu Gandring

Ken Angrok went home to Tumapel and met Dang Hyang Lohgawe. What took you so long in Karuman?, said Dang Hyang Lohgawe. I was stopping by to Lulumbang, Father, answered Ken Angrok.

Five months have passed, Ken Angrok remembered the deal he made with Mpu Gandring. He then went to Lulumbang to meet Mpu Gandring. Ken Angrok saw Mpu Gandring was still working with the kris that he was ordered.

Knowing that his kris was still being sharpened by Mpu Gandring, Ken Angrok became mad, grabbed the kris and suddenly stabbed Mpu Gandring. Ken Angrok put the kris on the stone basket, then the basket cracked into two pieces. He put the kris on the metal table, the table cracked into two pieces.

In dying, Mpu Gandring cast a spell on Ken Angrok, Hei Angrok! Soon, you will also die by the kris. Your son and grandson will also die by the kris. Seven kings will die by the kris. Ken Angrok felt sad after killing Mpu Gandring. If I become a king, may my glory also be the glory for all blacksmith's descendants in Lulumbang, prayed Ken Angrok in front of Mpu Gandring's dead body.

The Assassination of Tunggul Ametung

Arriving to Tumapel, Ken Angrok met with Kebo Ijo, another Tunggul Ametung's trusted servant. Ken Angrok and Kebo Ijo are a close friend. Kebo Ijo saw Ken Angrok carried an unfinished kris. He then asked Ken Angrok to lend him his new blunt kris.

Ken Angrok gave the kris to Kebo Ijo. The kris was always used by Kebo Ijo, because he loved to wear it on his waist. No one in Tumapel never saw Kebo Ijo left home without his new kris.

That night, Ken Angrok stole the kris from Kebo Ijo. By the will of the gods, Ken Angrok easily sneaked into the akuwu's bedroom and managed to assassinate Tunggul Ametung. Ken Angrok stabbed Tunggul Ametung and left the akuwu's dead body with the kris on his heart.

Early in the morning, the akuwu's guard found his master died with the kris stabbed on his heart. They looked at the kris and knew that it was Kebo Ijo's new kris. Kebo Ijo was then captured and stabbed also with the kris of Mpu Gandring by the guard. Kebo Ijo died.

The Singasari

The gods had already wished that Ken Angrok will become Ken Dedes soul mate. Infact both of them were felt in love to each other for so long. Everybody in Tumapel had no dare to talk about the affair between Ken Angrok and Ken Dedes.

Finally Ken Angrok married Ken Dedes, after the birth of Tunggul Ametung's son named Anusapati. From the marriage with Ken Angrok, Ken Dedes had given him four children. Three sons, Mahisa Wongateleng, Panji Saprang, and Agnibaya. The last child, a daughter named Dewi Rimba.

Ken Angrok was also had another wife named Ken Umang who had given him also four children. Three sons, Panji Tohjaya, Panji Sudatu, and Twan Wregola. The last child was also a daughter named Dewi Rambi.

Ken Angrok was no longer became the akuwu of Tumapel anymore since the county had rebelled to the kingdom of Daha. The people of Tumapel had risen Ken Angrok as the new King, in which the new kingdom's name of Tumapel was changed into Singasari

Ken Angrok became the first king of Singasari with the title of Sri Rajasa Batara Sang Amurwabumi. Ken Angrok finally defeated the kingdom of Daha and became the king of all the land in Java in 1144 Saka (1222 AD).

The Death of Ken Angrok

After Anusapati, Ken Angrok step-son, was grown up, he realized that he had many differences with his father. Anusapati asked to his mother, Ken Dedes, about it. Ken Dedes then explained all to Anusapati, including the death of his real father, Tunggul Ametung, by the kris of Mpu Gandring.

Anusapati asked his mother permission to give him the kris of Mpu Gandring. Ken Dedes then handed over the kris to Anusapati. In his room, Anusapati planned the assassination of the Amurwabumi with his loyal servant, a man from Batil. Anusapati gave his servant the kris of Mpu Gandring to assassinate the Amurwabumi.

In the palace, Ken Angrok, the Amurwabumi, was having a dinner when the man from Batil arrived, and stabbed him with the kris of Mpu Gandring. The man was managed to escape to see his master, Anusapati with the news of successful assassination.

The man from Batil handed the bloody kris of Mpu Gandring to Anusapati. Without any hesitation, Anusapati then killed his servant with the bloody kris.

Ken Angrok, the Sri Rajasa Batara Sang Amurwabumi died in 1168 Saka (1247 AD). The people of Singasari built a temple in Kagenengan to honour Ken Angrok.

The Ended of Mpu Gandring's Curse

The last used of the kris of Mpu Gandring was for the assassination of Anusapati by his step-brother Panji Tohjaya after becoming the second king of Singasari. Anusapati crowned as the king of Singasari in 1170 Saka (1249 AD). Anusapati died in Panji Tohjaya's hand, also stabbed using the kris of Mpu Gandring in 1171 Saka (1250 AD). It was the last seen and written about the use of the kris of Mpu Gandring.

The curse of Mpu Gandring on Ken Angrok's descendants ended after the assassination of Anusapati by his step-brother Panji Tohjaya. Because Panji Tohjaya died by a spear in the anarchy in Lumbangkatang in 1172 Saka (1251 AD).

So, the kris of Mpu Gandring only killed Mpu Gandring himself, Tunggul Ametung, Kebo Ijo, Ken Angrok, Anusapati's servant (a man from Batil), and Anusapati himself.

The Unwanted Son

Brahmā, the Hindu god of creation, was looking for the one who deserved to be his maid. He saw a new married couple, Gajahpara and his wife Ken Endok. Both of them worked as farmer for living.

Brahmā went down to meet Ken Endok and made a deal with her. From now on, you should not sleep with your husband anymore. If you do it, then your husband will die. And my son is mixed with him. What you should know, my son's name is Ken Angrok. Soon, he will become the ruler of the land of Java. Brahmā then disappeared after delivering the message.

Shortly after, Ken Endok asked Gajahpara to divorce her, because she was afraid of the Sang Hyang's message. Ken Endok went home to Pangkur in the North, after Gajahpara agreed to divorce her. A week later, Gajahpara died.

When the time came for the delivery, Ken Endok bore a baby boy, then put him in the children's cemetery.

The Gambler

A thief named Lembong saw a shiny thing in the children's cemetery. He also heard a baby's cry. After Lembong came closer, clear for him, the shiny thing was a baby who just cried. He took the baby and brought home. He claimed the baby as his own son.

Later Ken Endok knew that her baby was adopted by Lembong. Ken Endok told Lembong that the baby is her son, his name is Ken Angrok, son of the god Brahmā.

Young Ken Angrok became in love of gambling which made Ken Endok's and Lembong's treasures ran out.

Ken Angrok left Lembong's house to go for a journey. He met with Bango Samparan, a casino owner, who took Ken Angrok as his son. Bango Samparan was defeated in gambling by other casino owner in Karuman, and had many debts.

Before meeting with Ken Angrok, Bango Samparan heard a sound from the sky told him, that Ken Angrok was the one who will save him from all his debts. Bango Samparan then took Ken Angrok to play with the casino owner and brought winning to Bango Samparan.

The Rebel

He left Bango Samparan's house because of bad relationship he had with other Bango Samparan's children. He went to Kapundungan and met with Tita, son of the chief of Sagenggeng village. The meeting with Tita had made them became most wanted rebel in the land of Kadiri.

After Ken Angrok and Tita gained enough knowledges from a well known teacher in Kapundungan for few months, they started their journey together. They built small house in Sanja, in the East of Sagenggeng, and robbed every people who passed by.

The duet of Ken Angrok and Tita became a threat for the akuwu (Sherrif) of Tumapel, Tunggul Ametung. The akuwu then gave the order to capture Ken Angrok dead or alive.

The Vishnu Incarnation

In his run, Ken Angrok was given a message by Brahmā to meet with a brahmanian named Dang Hyang Lohgawe who just came from Jambudwipa (India) in Taloka.

Mean while, Dang Hyang Lohgawe also received a message from Brahmā to look for a boy, Vishnu incarnate in Java. The boy's name is Ken Angrok, who had chakra in his right line palm and shankha in his left line palm.

In Taloka, Dang Hyang Lohgawe met with Ken Angrok in a casino. He embraced Ken Angrok and claimed him as a son. Dang Hyang Lohgawe then brought Ken Angrok to serve the akuwu of Tunggul Ametung in Tumapel.

The Nareswari of Ken Dedes

Ken Dedes, daughter of Mpu Purwa, a Buddhist priest of Panawijen. Ken Dedes was widely known as the most beautiful woman ever lived in the land of Java. Tunggul Ametung heard about it and wanted to make her to be his wife.

By the time Mpu Purwa left the house for private meditation, Tunggul Ametung kidnapped her beautiful daughter. Tunggul Ametung brought Ken Dedes to Tumapel to make her to be his wife.

When Ken Dedes was pregnant, she asked Tunggul Ametung to take her to Boboji park. Tunggul Ametung then took Ken Dedes to Boboji park accompanied by Ken Angrok as his guard.

Arriving at the park, Ken Dedes stepped down from the horse cart, revealing her calf, and moreover, showing her most secret which looked shiny to Ken Angrok.

Saw the most secret thing from a beautiful lady, in which it shone, had made Ken Angrok felt in love with Ken Dedes. Ken Angrok then told to Dang Hyang Lohgawe about what happened.

What you just saw is called nareswari. Ken Dedes is the nareswari, the main woman. Even for a sinner, if he able to make her to be his wife, he will become great king, said Dang Hyang Lohgawe.

The Queen of Fruits

Manggis in Bahasa Indonesia, or widely known in English as mangosteen, or in Latin, Garcinia mangostana Linn, was named after Laurent Garcin, a French botanist of the 18th centuries. He reported and described some new plants (genus Garcinia) on his several journey to Bengal, Java, Malacca, Persia and Arabia from 1720 to 1729.

I never thought before that the Queen of Fruits, which originated from my country, has so many health benefits. I never eat mangosteen before, and never hesitated on eating it, because I am not fond of its look. Even though many Indonesian people consider mangosteen as their favorite fruit, but they always throw away the rind of mangosteen into the garbage.

From Discarded Rind To Use As Drug

The rind of mangosteen is believed to be the source of xanthones, bioactive substances. The most active xanthones compounds are alpha-mangostins, gamma-mangostins, and garcinone E.

The dried powdered rind is managed to overcome dysentery.

MangosteenRx, mangosteen extract that is sold on Amazon which manufactured from its pericarp (rind).

The extracts of mangosteen, which studied in Faculty of Chemistry, Department of Biology, National University of Mexico, have antioxidant, anti-tumoral, anti-allergic, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, and anti-viral activities.

Ointment which is made from the rind of mangosteen, managed to overcome eczema and other skin disorders, due to its anti-inflammatory effects.

Filtered water of the rind that has been soaked overnight, is used as a natural remedy for chronic diarrhea in adults and children.

The Debated of Anti-Cancer Studies

The used xanthones as cytotoxic compound on the cells of cancer by some scientists were doubtful. Even though treating cancer cells with cytotoxic compound can result in a variety of cell fates, either stop growing or die rapidly.

Several isolated studies on the extracts of mangosteen by many scientists around the world, were only used rats, hamsters or rabbits as the test subjects. None of them were using a cancer patient as the test subject.

In 1996, the study by Chairungsrilerd N, on two main properties of xanthones, alfa-mangostins and gamma-mangostins, were using hamsters and rabbits, had shown its anti-allergic effects.

In 2002, garcinone E, a xanthone derivative, had shown potential cytotoxic effect against hepatocellular carcinoma cell (liver cancer cell) lines, from cytotoxicity (quality of being toxic to cells) test conducted by Ho CK,.

In 2004, Moongkarndi's study reported the extracts of mangosteen potential activity on stopping the growth of breast cancer cell (SKBR3).

Two years study between 2003 and 2004 by Kenji Matsumoto, had resulted in potential apoptosis (the process of programmed cell death, or death of a cell in any form) activity of alfa-mangostins in human leukemia (blood cancer) cell lines.

Mangosteen Juice

Despite of all above studies, American Cancer Society considers mangosteen juice only as dietary supplements, and recommends to people who are being treated for cancer should speak with their doctors before taking the supplement.

Danger Threatened in Seafood Dishes

Bad news for seafood lovers. I am not fond of seafood dishes, but oyster is one of my favorite dish.

Report from Reportase Investigasi, in TransTV, Dec 1, 2012, titled Danger Threatened in Seafood Dishes, had found an astounding fact. The initial aim of the report was to determine the contents of chemical substances in seafoods such as shrimp, oyster, and fish in the waters of the Java Sea.

10 samples were obtained by TransTV crew from traditional markets and supermarkets. All of them were tested in a laboratory of Padjajaran University. The result, all of them had been contaminated by chemical substances.

Although the chemical level still in the normal threshold, but if it accumulates continuously will adversely affect to the people's health.

The further tests had found another results. 7 out of the 10 samples were also contained with borax and non food grade dye.

The TransTV crew than went to see Joni, the oyster seller, who had sold oyster which contained with borax and textile dyes. Joni had beed committed fraudulent practices to his costumers for years.

He used to have formaldehyde in all seafoods sold on his kiosk. Since getting formaldehyde were difficult, he then used borax which easier to get.

Since 1979, the Indonesian Government had banned the use of borax in all food products. But in order to preserve the goods and to attract buyers, has resulting in fraudulent behavior of the merchant.

That night in his kitchen, Joni soaked oyster, fish and shrimp in a bucket filled with water that had already mixed with borax and textile dyes.

After having soaked for about an hour, he then dried it, and ready for sale early in the morning.

Joni claimed that many his customers who complained about the fish which was bought from him tasted bitter. He then only answered by saying that all the seafoods were bought directly from fishermen.

Tips to distinguish seafoods which safe to eat

TransTV Crew used two types of shellfish, the one was purchased from Joni (dishonest seller) and the other from an honest sellers named Asep, and brought them into the open.

Shellfish which bought from Joni attracted less flies than the shellfish which bought from Asep.
